Introduction:
Dr Chan Hoi-ka, Fefe specializes in diagnosing and helping individuals across lifespan with special
educational needs (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity
Disorder), emotional disturbances (e.g., Anxiety Disorders and Depressive Disorders), and
other more severe psychiatric disorders (e.g., Bipolar and Related Disorder, Psychotic
Disorders, Personality Disorders). Over the years, Dr Chan has been providing tailored
psychotherapy to those who have experienced major life changes (e.g., divorce, violence,
sexual trauma, road traffic accident, death of loved ones) and multiple medical/ psychiatric
conditions. She has also been providing regular consultation and training to other
professionals such as paediatricians, psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and teachers,
earning the trust and respect of professional teams.
Dr Chan is a highly experienced clinical psychologist who is well-loved and
trusted by clients from all walks of life. She has over 20 years of clinical psychology
experience, having worked in paediatric, child and adolescent psychiatric, and adult
psychiatric departments in public hospitals as well as schools, children and youth integrated
service centres, community elderly support services, and residential care services in an non-
governmental organization. Dr Chan has years of experience treating adults and seniors
suffering from mild psychological distress to severe psychiatric disorders across community
and hospital in-patient settings. She was responsible for commissioning the clinical
psychological services for the child and adolescent psychiatric department at the Pamela
Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital and served as the head of the child and adolescent
clinical psychological services.

Dr Chan has developed wide range of services tailored to the unique needs of young people,
their families, and seniors. Dr Chan developed and implemented cognitive-behavioral
treatment group for seniors suffering from Depressive Disorders. In addition, Dr Chan
worked in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Community Support Project (CAMcom),
and accomplished to develop and implement a new service model serving children and
adolescents with marked anxiety and depressed mood disturbance across school and
community settings. Dr Chan has also developed and implemented specialized social skills
training, emotional regulation training, and executive function skills training programs for
children and adolescents with special educational needs (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder
and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). Her evidence-based parent training programs
have provided parents with the perspective and skills they need to help their children grow.
