Introduction:
Dr. Cheung has worked at the student mental health clinic at the University of Hong Kong and in hospitals under the Hong Kong Hospital Authority. He received advanced training at Temple University in Philadelphia, the Macquarie University in Sydney, and the Correctional Service Department of the Hong Kong government. He later joined the University of Hong Kong as a Research Assistant Professor.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Cheung serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong and provides professional training at the postgraduate level. Dr. Cheung is experienced in working with depressed and anxious patients of all ages, families dealing with death and bereavement issues, and the geriatric population with mental health issues. He is also skilled in conducting neuro-psychological assessments and forensic evaluations. Dr. Cheung is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Focusing Therapy (Person-Centered Therapy), and Satir Model Family Therapy.

Dr. Cheung is the former President of the Hong Kong Psychological Society (2013-2014; 2017-2019) and the former Chair of the Division of Clinical Psychology at the Hong Kong Psychological Society (2014-2017).
